Preparatory Course for Singapore Cambridge General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level)

Introduction

The University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), the Ministry of Education, Singapore and the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB) are the joint examining authorities for the Singapore-Cambridge GCE O-Level examination.

For students who would like to take the Cambridge GCE O-Level Examination, NYU Language School will help students prepare for it.

Course Structure

Students have a choice of the following possible subject combination choices. The approval of any other subject combination is at the sole discretion of the School.

Learning Objectives & Outcome

Students will be introduced or learn about the content of selected subjects according to the syllabi set by Ministry of Education in preparation for the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Ordinary Levels examinations in October -November.

Delivery Mode

Classroom learning, lessons to be conducted at NYU Language School.

Teachers

All our teachers are registered with the Committee for Private Education (CPE). Committee for Private Education (CPE) is part of SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).

Prerequisites

Aged 15 years & above as of 1st January in the year of registration.
Minimum English Language requirement of IELTS 5.0 or equivalent.

Assessment and Examination

The examinations are not easy, and your child will have to study hard to attain the required standard. As a result, there will be more assignments, including essays, than in our other English courses. In addition to the assigned homework, your child will have to do a number of hours of self-study every day.
A test will be conducted every 6 weeks to allow us to monitor your child's progress. In keeping with our policy of involving the parents and guardians, we will be sending you quarterly detailed course reports.


Your grade in this course will be based on the following components:

Award

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive an in-house certificate within 21 days from the last day of the course.

You can view their results online via the internet Results Release System (iERRS) by using the passwords given in the mailer or using their SingPass.
